Dream within a dream
I think this poem is saying that you really can't know if you are dreaming or not because you can just be showing to believe it's true so you can relay on it and not just let it go .
I believe Richard Cory shot himself because he wasnt trully happy inside he was hidding his problems behind a smile. Being rich isn't always great having money bring alot of fake people into your live maybe he had been hurt .
